Guitar Workstation

For years I have always used a large workbench to as a place to work on instruments. As it turned out I was constantly turning the instrument around so that I could work from the left or right side. And when I needed to cut a nut or work on the end of the instrument I had to walk to the end of my workbench and inevitably squeeze around the end to work. It was never fun but never a big enough hassle to do anything about it. However, years ago I had built the bottom cabinet in these photos to store things in my old shop. When I moved it was no longer very useful cabinet because there were drawers on both sides and I had no convenient place to put it and have access to all the drawers. But, then, and idea! Why not use it as a base for a workstation that would take up very little room in a shop (a 24" square) and build a unit on top to allow guitars or other musical instruments to be worked on without having to move the instrument around on my workbench. A place to do primarily setup. This is what I came up with. In just a few weeks, I have found it to be literally indespensable in my daily guitar construction. There are enough drawers to store just about anything I need and, I have plenty of room to work on any part of the instrument. Whether you have a big or small shop I highly recommend a workstation of this type. It will make you much more efficient!
