Here is my take on the venerable round shouldered Gibson style guitar. This instrument is made with classic scalloped pre-war bracing patterns for the ultimate in tone and loudness. The bridge, fingerboard and peghead overlay are Brazilian Rosewood. Making the bridge of Brazilian Rosewood cut the weight of the bridge by 33%. This particular bridge only weighs 19.5 grams, making it as unobtrusive as possible on the top vibration. The top is Adirondack Spruce and the back and sides are East Indian Rosewood. Pre-war style herringbone binding and mother of pearl rosette compliment the straight grained top. This entire guitar is extremely light for its’ size which, I believe contributes to its’ terrific sound and responsiveness. The neck is straight grained Honduran Mahogany with a truss rod adjustable from inside the sound hole. The sound hole is oversized, much like Clarence White’s old D-28 which really adds to the bass response of this instrument. Classic Schaller M6 tuners for the ultimate in tuning precision. A terrific instument for a discerning player.
