Caribbean 12

This guitar was completed in August of 2004. It is loosely based on the Gibson Nick Lucas model of the 1930’s. It has a sitka spruce top and indian rosewood back and sides. Ebony bridge and fretboard with old style inlays. The fretboard is bound in ebony. The guitar has a 25″ scale and Gibson style tuners. White ‘rope’ herringbone frames the top and sides along with the matching rosette. The binding is indian rosewood set off from the instument by the “rope” herringbone purfling. It is quite striking. The neck is one piece honduran mahogany with an adjustable truss rod adjusted through the soundhole. This instrument has semi-hemispherical frets. This “state of the art” fret treament results in the smoothest possible, perfectly radiused fret ends with a totally clean, unblemished fingerboard. Frets don’t get any better than this! The nut and saddle are bone, with the saddle compensated for good intonation. The instrument comes with a TKL “old style” hard shell case.
